2014 PROJECT: Still, Life

My year-long project for 2014 is a self portrait series exploring the journey of grief. Each week, I create a portrait and a written piece exploring some aspect of the journey. Shortly after the death of my fiancé in 2012, I began taking pictures of myself. I didn’t know why, all I knew is that some part of me needed to see myself. I felt like I had died too…  the images gave me proof that I was still living and a tangible way to express everything that was going on inside of me. Still, Life is a project that was birthed out of those initial snapshots. You can view the full collection as it grows here, and read all the accompanying written pieces from the blog/main page of this site.

    • Thank you Maria, your comment overwhelmed me – to hear that someone shared my project in a grief group (I was in one earlier this year myself) felt so touching. I’m wishing you and your group much love and healing, especially over the difficult holiday season. xoxo!
